The Comedy of Errors, my version

Most people who know me would vouch for my knack to goof up things badly. Very recently I created my very own version of Shakespearean Comedy of Errors.

"Whats in the name?" said Shakespeare. Too much in it, learnt I, the hard way !

I have a friend named XYZ for about a year now. She just completed her LLB from NUJS college, Kolkata [shall refer as Kolkata female from now on!!].

About a few months back, I got to know a senior by the same name XYZ studying in University of Florida(in Gainesville) through a common friend [shall refer as Florida female from now on!!]. I just had exchanged a couple of mails querying her a few things about University of Florida in general.

And yeah, both these females are native Bangaloreans.

Just about twenty days back, after my visa interview, I thought of mailing all my friends about the new developments. I intended to inform the Kolkata female but unintentionally had sent the mail to florida female instead of the Kolkata female.

After some time back, I got a reply from her congratulating me and asking me when I would be leaving for gainesvile. I still hadnt realized about my goof up.

I replied back breifing about my plans and asking where she is now [meant Kolkata/Bangalore !]. I got back a reply indicating that she is in Gainesville and that she had come to bangalore a couple of weeks back [Damn, this florida female had come to Bangalore for summer vacations!]. Being stubborn that I am, I still didnt realize that I had goofed up.

I presumed that this Kolkata female has gone to Univ of Florida for her masters and that she had been in bangalore after her LLB. I mailed back asking where she is staying in Gainesville(University of Florida), when did she start her course and many other basic questions.

I didnt get any reply from her for a couple of days. Persistent me, I still didnt realize my goof up! I also pinged her a couple of times in a very informal way when she was online. After that, I left track of it. I also mentioned about this Florida female a couple of times with another friend during some conversation. And yeah, still I didnt realize about my goof up.

Just about a week back, I changed my gtalk settings to "show all contacts". When I browsed through it, to my shock, to my dismay, to my horror, I realized I knew two females with the same name. I then realized how badly I had messed up. I then realized how dumb and imaginative [after-all a cusp with pisces you know!] I am. I then realized how vehemently I had proved some people never change!

Dont I have to agree with these lines very badly ;-)
Taalib ke liye bhi sahi, "mard" khud ko kabhi nahi badalte..
joh apni sifat na sammhal paaye, woh kabhi "mard" nahi kehelaate..
[Taalib : lover ; Sifat : character]
